A Book to Ease Dental Anxiety

A fear of going to the dentist is a real thing; many people get anxious over the thought of going to get their teeth inspected on a regular basis. Whether it’s due to a poor experience from the past, stories they’ve heard about other people or just a general fear that they can’t get over, these feelings are valid. A good Ottawa dentist will be able to put any fears to rest upon first meeting them.

An author (and a young one at that!) has taken it upon herself to help ease the fears that people may have when it comes to visiting the dentist. “Jen Dafoe’s Chico’s First Trip to the Dentist has been picked up by publisher Fitzhenry Whiteside and will be distributed to Shopper’s Drug Marts and Loblaws stores across Canada.“I’m ecstatic,” said Dafoe, who has been selling and distributing the book herself since it was launched in 2014.“I’m happy because I know how many young children it’s going to help to take that fear away with information that accurate and up-to-date. If I can take away all those fears and anxieties and replace them with education, smiles and giggles, I’ve done my job.””

Such an amazing girl! She saw a problem and was proactive in how to help people overcome it. If you are someone who feels anxious about visiting the dentist make sure you consult with your local Ottawa dentist and speak to them out the concerns you have. Upon speaking with them and getting a thorough explanation of all dental practices and everything that’s done to make patients feel safe and comfortable, your dental fears should start to subside.

Protecting the Health of your Teeth

In order to maintain the strength and integrity of anything, regular maintenance is required. You may buy a house brand new but that doesn’t mean it will just stay in that pristine condition. It’s imperative to go through the many facets of your home on a regular basis to ensure that all systems are running efficiently. The older the home gets, the more this becomes important as certain aspects of the home may need to be upgraded or repaired.

The same can be said about the human body, especially the teeth. They aren’t immune to aging so that means that need extra care on a regular basis to maintain their use. Dental health for people of all ages is something that your Ottawa dentist definitely puts as a priority, but some offices in Singapore have taken things a step further. “Geriatric and special needs dentistry is a relatively new field that is expected to become more important here, given the rapidly ageing population.Singapore welcomed its first geriatric and special needs dentists in 2012. That year, Dr Tay returned from his postgraduate training in Australia to work at NUH.”

This idea is pretty remarkable as the mobility and dexterity of the senior population can keep them from cleaning their teeth effectively. If you are someone that may be having a difficult time properly maintaining the health of your teeth make sure to contact your Ottawa dentist. They will be able to help you.
